My son Leo and I are both reactive hypoglycemic. For as long as I can remember, I have struggled with “not feeling right,” often passing out, or feeling like I’m going to pass out, dealing with mood swings and moments when I just can’t talk to people for a reason that I cannot put my finger on.

Soon after my son was born, he too began to exhibit some of the bizarre symptoms that eventually led us both to a diagnosis. It also led to us discovering that there is a quagmire of misinformation on the web about the condition. It took years for us to obtain a diagnosis, and countless hours poring over advice (some good, most not so good) on how to deal with this disorder.
