My wife Sarah has HFI.   Check out this message board for people with HFI:

If your son loves fruit, he problem doesn&#039;t have HFI--more likely Dietary Fructose Intolerance (DFI) or fructose malabsorbition.  Some with HFI will have too severe of an adverse reaction with a bite of fruit.
